Johanna and Ryan Wedding

“Love is like peeing your pants. Everyone can see it but only you can feel the warmth.” -Maid of Honor

We love getting to know the couple before their big day. Johanna was one of the sweetest brides-to-be I had the pleasure of working with. We exchanged many exciting emails about both of our big days, and it felt like we had been friends for a long time. Johanna and Ryan’s wedding was set up in a beautiful tent at Crossed Keys Inn in Andover, NJ. It had the look and feel of a warm country-style wedding, and we loved the special elements such as an outdoor bonfire, adorable chalkboard messages, and Old Navy flip-flop as “dancing shoes” for the guests. The wedding favors were milk and cookies, candies, and a key made from seeds and recycled materials that can grow flowers when planted. How cool is that?!

Johanna and Ryan, congratulations again on your big day! We wish you a lifetime of unconditional love and laughter!

Christina and Kevin Wedding

“You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.” -Henry Drummond

You know it’s going to be a fabulous wedding when James Tramondo, the featured planner of “Whose Wedding is it Anyway,” is running the show. We had the pleasure of working with James and his talented team for the wedding of Kevin and Christina at the GORGEOUS 620 Loft and Garden at the Rockefeller Center. The views were mesmerizing and the details plentiful and amazing such as Christina’s epic dress, the centerpieces at every table, the vast dinner stations, and the lovely up-lighting all around the space. And nothing makes a great party like having the DJ from Bravo Sound playing songs that most people recognize and love to dance to. With only 50 guests, the wedding was super intimate, fun, and full of LOVE, and the celebration continued at the after party at R Lounge in Times Square.

Kevin and Christina, we can tell you guys have so much love for each other and know you will last a lifetime. Congratulations again and we are so honored to have been part of your special celebration!!

Liz and Chris Wedding

“VNA MELIORES.” – “It’s Better Together” (in Latin)

We absolutely LOVE small and intimate weddings! I love how we get a chance to get to know the couple and mingle with the guests at smaller affairs. Liz and Chris’s wedding was held at the classy Victorian-style Alger House in New York City, which made the perfect setting for an intimate affair. We were even lucky enough to witness their beautiful ceremony and hear their heartfelt vows. The couple implemented many creative aspects into their wedding which we enjoyed–from playing a riddle game with 12 clues (one in our photo booth!), to jamming a wide array of awesome music, to decorating sheets at our scrapbook station, to indulging in FIVE delicious cakes, their ideas kept the guests entertained and dancing all night long. Can’t wait to see the photos from Merri Cyr Photography!

Liz and Chris, thank you so much for inviting us to take part in your lovely wedding day! Both of you were amazing to work with and to get to know. Congratulations again!

Jon and Steve Wedding

“You’ve taken my heart, and I’ll give you the rest of me too. You’re the perfect man for me. I love you, I do.” – Jennifer Hudson

We had the honor of bringing our photo booth to a same-sex wedding at the Hudson Terrace in New York City. From the first email I received from Steve and Jon, I can tell they were both ecstatic for this celebration. Seeing them so completely in love after many years together, one can’t deny how naturally they complement one another on every level. They are both super sweet, have so much energy, and truly enjoy each other’s company. My favorite part was when they ran to the photo booth immediately after their ceremony and snapped 4 awesome shots together–check out that photo in the slideshow below! Jon and Steve thought of every detail when it came to creating a complete experience for their guests. From the venue to the furniture, music, and food. Even to the gift bags with a bottle of water, Orbit gum, chocolate and wine nuts, Advil, ring pop, and a picture frame engraved with their names and date (for their photo booth photo)—definitely the MOST considerate wedding favors we’ve ever seen!

Congratulations to Jon and Steve, we know you will have a lifetime of joy and laughter together!!

Jackie and Chris Wedding

“You call it madness, but I call it LOVE.” -Don Byas

Our second event on 9.10.11 was the wedding reception of Jackie and Chris held at the Seasons in Washington Township, New Jersey. One of my favorite parts of the wedding is the best man and maid of honor toasts because they reveal the couple’s personalities and sometimes turn into roasts of the groom (haha). This wedding had exactly that–sincere, heartfelt, and funny stories of the newlyweds. The two best men and the maid of honor made fun of the bride and groom (actually, just the groom) and shared stories that showed their deep friendship and how much love they have for each other. It was such a memorable night. As always, thanks to Kisha and the Pure Ambiance team for planning an elegant affair! And big thanks to the DJ and MC from LJ Productions who knew exactly how to work the crowd and kept them dancing in the photo booth and on the dance floor until 1am!

Congratulations again to Jackie and Chris, and thank you for inviting us to be a part of your special day. I wish you all the joy in the world in your new life together!

Dorigen and Jeffrey Wedding

“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.” -Charles M. Schulz

We know that Daughter of Design produces fabulous, sophisticated events, and we witnessed it for the first time yesterday–at Dorigen and Jeffrey’s wedding at 632 Hudson in New York City.  A little history on the venue: it was originally built as a townhouse in 1847 and has housed a General Store, family business, and a chorizo factory over the years. Even MTV’s Real World was filmed there in 2001!  This enchanting venue with so much culture and architectural detail set the perfect backdrop to a wedding for a unique couple.

Dorigen and Jeffrey celebrated their special day with their closest family and friends. It was the smallest wedding we’ve  ever attended with only 70 guests, but it was also one of the funnest, most intimate weddings. The guests were all having a good time, singing loudly and boogie-ing down to the songs.

To everyone who was there, we hope you had fun inside our photo booth! Below is a slideshow of our favorites from the night, and the entire album can be viewed here: Dorigen + Jeffrey Photo Booth Album

To Dorigen and Jeffrey, congratulations again on your wedding!! We wish you the best!

Christy and Steven Wedding

“To the world you are one person. But to me, you are the world.” -Unknown

The first time I corresponded with Christy, she told me that she was an avid scrapbooker. This simple statement led me to start her album design 9 months prior to the wedding. After running to the store and updating her with pictures of the album cover, sheets, and embellishments, I used all my creative juices to design the album to her liking. After hearing her reaction “OH MY GOD!!!  I have all those stickers!!!” and “ I LOVE THEM!” I knew I had accomplished my goal!

Christy and Steven’s wedding was held at the il Tulipano in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. They looked like models out of a magazine and Christy was glowing in her wedding dress. One of the highlights of the night was the maid of honor speech which included a surprise song (Lil Jon’s “Shot”) as advice for Steven to keep it handy at all times. In the photo booth corner, it was 4 hours of non-stop laughing, photoboothing, and scrapbooking. The guests knew about Christy’s love for scrapbooking and wanted to impress her with their designs. The final product was an album with 80 custom pages!

To all the guests that were there, we had an awesome time taking photos and scrapbooking with you! Below are some of our favorites from the night and the entire album can be viewed here: Christy + Steven Wedding Album

Congratulations again to Christy and Steven!!

Sandra and Robert Wedding

“I found the one my heart loves.” -Song of Solomon 3:4

We are honored to have been invited to the wedding of Sandra and Rev. Robert at the Hilton (Short Hills, NJ) this past weekend. The couple celebrated the joyous occasion with their close family and friends, and they were all smiles from beginning to end. The ballroom was decorated with lovely colors of coral and ivory, and the guests were dancing the night away to the amazing voice of the live band. It was the first time for some to see a photo booth at a wedding and there was always a long line to get in! Everyone loved decorating scrapbook sheets with their photo booth pictures and comments, so much that most of them back for seconds and thirds. As always, the end result was a beautiful complete book for the bride and groom.

Jamie + Shane Wedding

“A happy wife makes for a happy life.” -Unknown

We feel so lucky to have worked with the sweetest and most down to earth couples this year. Weddings this month are even more special to us because we’re also getting married—on August 28th! While watching the first dance, speeches, cake cutting, and guests ripping up the dance floor, we can’t help but look at each other and feel more excited about our own wedding celebration. Last weekend we brought our photobooth to Jamie and Shane’s wedding at The Surf Club in New Rochelle NY and the couple planned a gorgeous wedding with their colors of deep teal and coral. It was an evening of heartfelt stories of the newlyweds (the maid of honor speech made me teary-eyed!), nonstop dancing, and the couple smiling from cheek to cheek. Ah, what a perfect way to start off our wedding month!

Jamie and Shane, thank you for submitting your love story to our 2010 Christmas Giveaway, and we’re so happy to have been part of your special day. Congratulations again and we wish you a lifetime of fun and happiness together!

To all the guests that were there, we hope you had a blast inside our photo booth! Below is a slideshow of our favorites and the entire album can be viewed here: Jamie & Shane Wedding Album

Jennifer + Joseph Wedding

“Now join hands, and with your hands your hearts.” -W. Shakespeare

Jen and Joey were married at The Bourne Mansion in Oakdale, New York, one of the most beautiful venues we’ve ever been to. It had a breathtaking view of the Great South Bay and the interior was intricately decorated with crystal lights, fireplaces, and French doors. We set up our photo booth in the “Blue Room” and our Sweet Booth blended in with the decor nicely. All of these elegant details combined with a couple that looked like models out of Vogue… we felt like we were in an old movie.

The guests had a blast taking pictures with the props and kept coming back for more. For the guests that were there, thank you for bringing non-stop fun and surprises to our photo booth!
