Food Network’s 2011 Wine and Food Festival

“If you want to keep your memories. You first have to live them.” -Bob Dylan

Three whole days of Food Network’s 2011 Wine & Food Festival = three whole days of awesome craziness inside our photo booth. We lost our voices and can’t feel the bottom half of our bodies. But, it was all worth it. Held at Pier 57 in New York City, the festival had culinary demonstrations with celebrity chefs, wine and drinks from the Southern Wine & Spirits, and tastings by NYC’s top restaurants and chefs. Bobby Flay, Anthony Bourdain, Masaharu Morimoto, and Andrew Zimmern were among the list of chefs to showcase their skills at the event. It was an amazing culinary experience we will never forget. For us, the best part of it all was mingling with the attendees and seeing their first reaction to their photos—gasping, shouting, laughing, and cheering. One couple told us we had captured the best photo they’ve ever taken together. And that was BEFORE they started drinking! That made our day.

Below is a slideshow of our favorites from the Grand Tasting Events, and the entire albums can be viewed here:

Food Bank NYC

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” -Mother Teresa

Yesterday we brought our Theater Screen photo booth to Food Bank for New York City‘s Rock the Warehouse event, an evening of celebration for its corporate partners and volunteers. These are people with big hearts and helping hands, and we were glad to bring them photo booth fun for a night. There was also a scavenger hunt, open bar, frozen goodness from Ciao Bella, BBQ from Blue Smoke, and tours around Food Bank’s amazing warehouse which distributes more than 74 million pounds of food (!) to the 5 boroughs every year. I loved their idea of using repack boxes as the backdrop to connect the photo booth to the mission of the Food Bank and the work of the Warehouse in particular — and it turned out great in pictures!!

For those that were there, thank you for bringing so much fun and energy to our photo booth! You can find the pictures on Facebook where you are encouraged to tag anyone you know!

Project by Project’s New York Loves Japan fundraiser

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”Winston Churchill

One of the best parts of being in the photo booth business is the opportunity to contribute to amazing causes. We attended the New York Loves Japan food and sake fundraising event hosted by Project by Project at La Venue in New York to help raise money for the Japanese Red Cross Society. All proceeds will help support disaster relief efforts in Japan and throughout the Pacific. From the crispy rice hamachi topped with gold flakes and scallions to salmon and yellowtail sunomono with yuzu juice and Katifi pasta (our favorite!), it was a culinary experience that we will never forget. We even met and took a picture with Top Chef Lee Anne Wong!

We provided on-site printing for the Theater Screen photo booth for the first time, and it was a HUGE success!! Sharp 4×6 photos printed out immediately and attendees were able to take home a souvenir copy. Everyone loved the props (especially our new furry animal hats) and kept coming back for more.

PbP, thank you for this wonderful opportunity and for being exceptional in every way! You guys were such a pleasure to work with. And Jeff Chin from I8NYC, thank you for connecting us!

**Facebook Contest: We have selected 5 of our top picks for the photo shootout, and it is up to YOU to vote for the MOST ORIGINAL “shot of the night.” Remember to vote for your picture (if you made the cut) and ask everyone you know to help you win! Vote here: https://www.facebook.com/SweetBooths

Leukemia & Lymphoma Team in Training Victory Party

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” -Aesop

Team in Training is the most successful fundraising campaign of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The program has trained nearly half a million runners, walkers, triathletes, cyclists, and hikers for marathons, triathlons, or 100-mile bike rides, and it has raised over $1 billion to fund lifesaving cancer research. We were honored to be part of the Victory Party that took place at M1-5 Lounge right after the NYC half marathon on March 20, 2011. It was a party for participants to celebrate with their family and friends, and we brought our Theater Screen photo booth and prop box to help them unwind after the race. The participants were energetic (even after running 13+ miles!) and got creative with their poses.

Below are some of our favorites from the party. Click here for the whole album: Leukemia & Lymphoma TNT Victory Party Album

A big congratulations to all the participants of the New York City half marathon on March 20, 2011!!

A Taste of Greenwich House

“Laughter is brightest where food is best.” -Irish Proverb

We had a blast at A Taste of Greenwich House at the Metropolitan Pavilion in NYC. From Kobe beef sausage with sriracha mustard to foie gras mousse with Satsuma gelée and Sicilian pistachios, the tasting from 40 of NYC’s finest eateries was anything but ordinary. We even had a chance to mingle with chefs and foodies and meet the beautiful Sara Moulton, all while introducing gala attendees to the fun of our photo booths. As the night progressed and drinks consumed, guests got creative with their poses and some even wore 2-3 props at once! It was wildly entertaining. Below are some of our favorite pictures from the night. Click here for the entire album: A Taste of Greenwich House Album
